# My frontend learning journey!!

It was august when all the high school and competitive exams where over . I started exploring stuffs and got started with the absolute basics in development . I went through course of html from [codeacademy](https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-html) and October was already here . Developer community of my college had a awareness seminar on [hacktoberfest](https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com), I attended the session literally with 10 of my friends as i was the one who forced them to attend lol . I became very motivated to contribute in it and get that tshirt ,even though it didn't happen i forced myself to do something i did my first pr request and also got my [first proper merger](https://github.com/pulls?q=is%3Apr+author%3Achidam333+archived%3Afalse+is%3Aclosed) and one merger in a blacklisted repo too. After this i did try to all increase my frontend skills and start developing frontend web pages using bootstrap . I watched a tut from [daily's tuition's youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgKSqz3it50) and created my first [nice website](https://chidam333.github.io/pw/), i was kinda proud of it and bragged about it in lot of places . Tbh i did copy paste a lot of code and i was at times struggling to follow the tut . One of the major reason being it was bootstrap 4 and i was using bootstrap 5. There was a major part of jquery which i just skipped . After that i learned JS from [deved's series](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDyQo7g0_nsX8_gZAB8KD1lL4j4halQBJ). This was a good enough series to get started with JS .
This was half way through December when i participated in my first hackathon with 4 of my college friends . I created the frontend part of it working day and night i also pitched it (lol) you can see it [here](https://youtu.be/0rhdLRQrNtE?t=1652). Even though according to me our project was impressive compared to otheres over there we didn't win any positions . One interesting thing was i tried to learn react basic one day before hackathon . It was a flop and then..... after hackathon ended i got started with svelte , the inspiration for svelte was from one of the videos of [fireship](https://www.youtube.com/c/Fireship) ( I really enjoy his videos) I did try to make some functional projects but most of them fall apart while building them one of it was a place to access content of google classroom in more organized manner . I was half way through it but then i was bored especially when offline classes news became a common thing . I did create some more sites here and there for development clubs of my college recruitment , [chetan car's is one of fav one's](https://chetancar.netlify.app) . I also tried out some data science course and tutorial ( didn't stick to it ) [one of it ->](https://github.com/chidam333/Exploring-the-Bitcoin-Cryptocurrency-Market) . After half way through JAN i wanted to get started with something else , i choose to start with web 3 development , started with a random project from questbook have to be honest here , it was very very tough to understand what the heck was happening , error where bombarded anyhow with multiple trials i was able to run it [calculator dapp's repo](https://github.com/chidam333/calculator-dapp). I did 2 more one from buildspace which was ok but most importantly learned how to connect frontend and backend [gif dapp website](https://bharatigif.pages.dev) , then learned more technicals from a blog by [0xMuse](https://dev.to/0xmuse/accelerated-guide-to-fullstack-web3-with-ass-anchor-solana-and-svelte-1mg) and created a [vartalap dapp](https://vartalap-dapp.vercel.app) , Unfortunately i have been in a stagnant position since then , i barely get time as i seem to spend most of it in clg, talking etc .March, April and May was neither interesting nor productive . They where mundane . Let's hope that i will be able to reverse the trend and get started with learning again (not only development).
Thank you so much if you read the whole thing
